Assignment 1

The Wartburg Castle was built in 1068 by Ludwig der Springer. In later years Martin Luther hid there after his exile to translate the bible. Also it was the inspiration for Richard Wagner's Tannhaeuser. I chose this site because I am always interested in the castles of Germany.

The town of Bramberg is one of the few towns not destroyed from WWII. Bramberg is just north of Nuremberg, and has plenty of hills.  It also has 8 breweries within the city, and has a medieval look to it that puts it on the map for UNESCO. When I was looking at the list the town sparked my interest about how German cities could be like. This one definitely caught my eye.

Out of all my research I found that I like Bramberg the best. The history of the city and the fact that through WWII it still managed to survive just fascinates me.I also like the fact that the town has a medieval look to it after all these years.
